Simple but effective
The magician starts with a set of seven cards. Show each and every card separately, there are 6 number card and one picture card (For Ex. queen card) all these cards has a hole at the bottom, now magician tells a story that “all number cards are jealous of picture card because picture cards have more value than number cards”.
“Once they decided they will group together leaving queen separately”. Now magicians mix all cards keeping small hole at one end for all cards. And introduce a small piece of simple straw. Now he pulls the queen card half out of the stack and pushes straw in the hole from the bottom, so the number cards locked together in straw. And as the queen card is pulled up it is not locked.
Now the magician says “the number card forms a group and locked them in straw leaving queen out but they don’t know that queen is a magician”, now magician slightly push queen card again in a stack.
And mysteriously queen card found locked in straw. You can fan the cards and show that the straw is actually passing through queen card too from the bottom hole.
Take out each and every card one by one from straw to show the queen is really locked in straw.
